REPAIRS FAQ
Do you service all makes and models?
Virtually all. Certain select makes/models may not have available parts supply and could be unrepairable. We do not charge an inspection fee in the event of unrepairable equipment.
What is the turnaround time for repairs?
Depending on our current volume, typical turnaround time is 2 - 4 weeks. Equipment that has been in the repair queue for more than 4 weeks is automatically given top priority.
How does expediting work?
If you choose to have your repair expedited, we guarantee a turnaround time of 5 business days from the date of receipt. If we can't meet that deadline, the expedite fee of $100 is waived.
What do I need to include in my shipment for repair?
We prefer to have complete kits including the receiver, transmitter, direct connection cables, and induction clamp if applicable, because any of these items could potentially have issues to address. It is up to your discretion if you wish to only send part of your kit for service.
How often does locating equipment need to be calibrated?
There is no hard rule for when equipment "needs" calibration. Most modern locators do not lose accuracy over time - only in the event of technical malfunction. Older, analog locators like the Metrotech 810 do need periodic tuning for full accuracy. That said, many larger companies and city departments follow an annual calibration schedule for all their equipment. Note: All repairs completed by AZ Locators include calibration.
What is the warranty policy on repairs?
We warranty all repairs for 90 days. If the same issue returns during that time frame, you are not responsible for labor or shipping costs*. If replacement parts end up being necessary to resolve the original issue, you are responsible for those parts costs.
* The Metrotech 810DX and all Rycom models are excluded from the warranty due to low reliability.
